Delhi City India

Delhi is the second largest metropolis in India, with a population of 19 million. It is National Capital Territory of Delhi. The Mughal emperor Shahjahan built the city, now we know as "Old Delhi"; it was the capital of the Mughal Empire from 1649 to 1857. It is located at near Yamuna River.

Delhi is the capital of India and it is also the capital of several ancient Indian empires. It is the site of many ancient and medieval monuments. Today as the capital of India Delhi is the seat of administration and the monuments which tell the saga of a bygone era stand there. It is correctly said that Delhi is a land of 'Dilwalas'. In 1920 Delhi again became Indian capital and name was New Delhi. New Delhi houses important offices of the federal government, including the Parliament of India
