Rabindra Bharati University was founded on May 8, 1962.The University was reconstituted in 1981 by the Rabindra Bharati Act, 1981.Considering the fact that there was not a single centre of Vedic research in the eastern part of India and the consequent difficulties experienced by the scholars interested in the subject.
